HELP US REACH OUR GOAL
We are raising money to get our transportation assistance program of the ground and we need your help. Your donation will go towards providing vehicles that will help justice impacted people find and stay in employment.
87% of people released from prison do not have a valid driver's license
lack of valid ID as a critical barrier to resettlement and moving away from crime among people leaving prison.
During reentry, returning citizens face a variety of difficulties related to safety, accessing services, and meeting conditions of release, all of which can be exacerbated by insufficient access to transportation. Research indicates that transportation barriers can demonstrably increase a person’s vulnerability to other challenges, such as unemployment, food insecurity, homelessness, and more.
Our goal is to provide immediate, intensive, and personalized reentry support to people from prision
S4C will work to remove the transportation barriers of our clients while at the same time working with them to acquire their driver’s license, afford reliable transportation and access their own vehicles. This increases earning potential and lays a foundation for self sustainability.

driving licence
program
pre-and-post-release employment services are crucial factors in the successful reintegration of reentering citizens as the unemployment rate is the highest within the first two years of release. One of the largest barriers to full and successful integration is the challenge of attaining a driver’s license due to some state and local policies allowing for the suspension of license due to unpaid fines and fees.
Without a license, formerly incarcerated individuals may be unable to gain and keep employment, make scheduled appointments with probation officers, and even attend school. During such a crucial time frame, this lack of a major necessity can increase the chances of an individual recidivating or being subject to revocation.
